This course will focus on features of creative writing through meaningful contexts, it will also support those pupils sitting national tests and give them a range of skills to work at a higher level. The day will focus on the theme of spring and the many stories associated with this beautiful season. We will look at how Spring arrives in different books and we will personify her and write our own stories and poems about what she does and what magical powers she brings to the world.
We will go outside and personify the natural world using imagery to bring our writing to life. We will use eggs and daffodils to create metaphor and simile in our own creaive writing. If you love writing and being creative with ideas and characters then this is the course for you! Pupils who want to explore these skills in preparation for May would benefit from this course.
Tutor: Emma Cox, Children's Author (Malkin Moonlight) and Head of English at Exeter Cathedral School
