Do you love working outside and taking inspiration from the natural world? Do you love English and being creative with the natural environment? If so then please join us for a day of Lost Words in the Woods of Killerton.
Year 3 and 4
Date: Tuesday 22nd May 2018
Venue: Killerton National Trust, Exeter
Time: 10am- 4.30pm
Tutors: Anita Wood
We will use Robert Macfarlanes's beautiful new book "The Lost Words" to discover the amazing variety of plants, animals, birds and insects at Killerton. We will spend time in the orchard and in the woods and you will have the chance to write observations, poems and short pieces of prose. During the day, there will also be time for observational drawing, and making of group sculptures. We will use all of our senses to bring "The lost words" to life! Towards the end of the day we will share our work around the campfire.
What to bring
Please wear warm clothes (trousers not skirts), bring a warm jumper and a waterproof coat, and wellies if you have them. Pupils will need a packed lunch and drink.
Course Tutor: Anita Wood – Primary School Teacher, PGCE Lecturer at the University of Exeter, and a Forest School Leader with an Outdoor First Aid Qualification.
